State & Local Tax M&A Manager

About the role

PwC is seeking a Manager to lead its State and Local Tax (SALT) practice within the Mergers & Acquisitions team. You will guide clients through complex local tax regulations, help optimise tax positions, and drive technology‑enabled solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client service accounts and lead engagement workstreams for SALT M&A projects.
• Analyse and interpret local tax laws, ensuring compliance and identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Supervise, develop, and coach junior team members, fostering a high‑performance culture.
• Partner with team leadership to own quality, timelines, and deliverables.
• Address conflicts, conduct difficult conversations, and escalate issues when necessary.
• Uphold PwC’s professional standards, code of conduct, and independence requirements.
