State and Local Tax Financial Services Manager

About the role

Join PwC’s State and Local Tax Financial Services practice as a Manager, helping financial‑services clients navigate complex tax environments. You will assess state and local tax burdens, recommend compliant solutions, and align tax strategies with broader business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze client restructuring, new tax legislation, and filing positions to ensure compliance with state and local tax rules.
• Provide guidance on income, franchise, payroll, employment taxes, abandoned/unclaimed property, credits, incentives and indirect taxes.
• Coach and develop junior team members, resolve operational issues, and uphold PwC’s code of ethics.
• Use data and stakeholder insights to build recommendations and simplify complex tax concepts for clients.
• Monitor global tax trends and translate them into actionable client strategies.

Required profile

• Manager‑level experience in state and local tax, preferably within financial services.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven leadership and coaching skills.
• Excellent communication, consensus‑building and ethical standards.
