Staff Software Engineer, Vehicle Access Cloud

About the role

We are looking for a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and operation of cloud backend systems that enable secure vehicle access across our entire lineup. In this senior position you will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑performance, scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and deploy backend components for vehicle access software across multiple vehicle models.
• Develop secure APIs for data exchange between micro‑services, mobile devices, and embedded systems.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, performance, and security of all services.
• Partner with product, cloud, embedded, mobile, and cybersecurity teams to integrate connected services.
• Work with mobile device OEMs to integrate software on their platforms.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and conduct code reviews.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise systems in real‑world conditions.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, architectural designs, API specs, and automated tests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in automotive or high‑performance micro‑services.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and effective communication across engineering and business teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Hands‑on knowledge of Kubernetes and Cloud HSM environments.
• DevOps expertise for deploying scalable services.
• Building and securing high‑throughput micro‑services.
