Staff Software Engineer

About the role

Solidroad is expanding its San Francisco engineering hub and seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead technical direction across key product areas. You will shape architecture, drive reliability and performance standards, and mentor a growing elite team while working closely with customers to turn complex problems into shippable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and enforce architecture, reliability, and performance standards for core systems.
• Hire, mentor, and build a high‑trust, high‑feedback engineering culture.
• Collaborate directly with customers to translate high‑leverage challenges into product features and measure outcomes.
• Own critical systems end‑to‑end, ensuring quality and scalability.
• Partner with product, design, and GTM teams in both San Francisco and Dublin to align decisions and drive execution.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading technical teams and setting architectural direction in a fast‑moving product environment.
• Strong ability to mentor engineers and foster a collaborative culture.
• Excellent communication skills for translating customer needs into engineering work.
• Willingness to work onsite five days a week in the San Francisco office.
