Staff Software Engineer – GTM AI Engineering

About the role

Anthropic is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the GTM AI Engineering (Claudification) team. You will design, build, and operate autonomous agents that support the company’s go‑to‑market processes, from inbound outreach to pipeline management. The role combines full‑stack development, evaluation framework creation, and close collaboration with sellers and RevOps.

Key responsibilities

• Build and run autonomous agents that execute end‑to‑end sales motions such as inbound, outbound, and pipeline management.
• Design human‑oversight mechanisms, including approval gates, handoffs, and escalation paths.
• Develop and operate evaluation frameworks to benchmark agent behavior in development and production.
• Instrument model and tool calls, creating observability that links agent actions to revenue outcomes.
• Ship MCP servers, agent skills, and web applications that integrate with CRM, communication tools, and data warehouses.
• Set technical direction for agent development, evaluation, and operations across the team.

Required profile

• Strong programming experience in Python or TypeScript with production‑grade applications.
• Hands‑on experience building and operating LLM‑based agents, including context engineering and tool use.
• Proficiency in using evaluation frameworks and transcript analysis to improve LLM systems.
• Working fluency with data, including SQL queries and data‑driven decision making.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, ship without a detailed spec, and deliver simple solutions to complex problems.
• Passion for safe, beneficial AI and empathy for end users.
