Staff Software Engineer, Growth

About the role

Anthropic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Growth team. In this role you will drive user acquisition, activation, retention, and revenue growth for AI‑powered products through data‑driven strategies and technical implementations. You will collaborate with engineers, data scientists, marketers, and product managers to shape and scale growth initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build technical solutions that support the full growth funnel, from acquisition to monetization.
• Develop and run A/B tests and experiments to improve onboarding, feature adoption, and subscription conversion.
• Partner with product and marketing teams to translate growth opportunities into clear technical requirements.
• Analyze user behavior and metrics to identify patterns and growth levers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in growth‑focused or revenue‑driven environments.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally in fast‑paced, collaborative settings.
• Passion for scaling AI products and delivering value to a broad audience.

Required skills

• Full‑stack development experience, including web front‑end (React) and backend services.
• Strong data‑analysis capabilities and familiarity with experimentation frameworks.
• Data‑driven problem‑solving mindset with a focus on user behavior insights.

What we offer

• Competitive annual salary range of $320,000 – $405,000 USD.
