Staff+ Software Engineer, Developer Productivity

About the role

Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. As a Staff+ Software Engineer on the Developer Productivity team, you will shape the tooling and infrastructure that enable thousands of engineers and researchers to develop, test, and ship code at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical strategy and roadmap for developer productivity, translating team goals into concrete execution plans.
• Define and implement infrastructure architecture, solving the hardest scalability and reliability challenges.
• Design and build distributed, high‑volume infrastructure and shared libraries used across all engineering teams.
• Maintain and evolve build environments, package management, and dependency systems for fast, reproducible builds.
• Establish language‑ecosystem standards, tooling, and frameworks that boost productivity for research and production workloads.

Required profile

• Deep experience with build systems, CI/CD pipelines, and developer tooling in large monorepo environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Rust and/or Go.
• Passion for reducing friction in the software development lifecycle.
• Experience with container orchestration and large‑scale infrastructure.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
