Staff RN – LDRP/Nursery

About the role

The Staff Registered Nurse (RN) will provide compassionate, evidence‑based nursing care to patients in the LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) and nursery units. Working closely with physicians and the interdisciplinary team, the RN ensures safe, high‑quality care throughout the patient’s continuum.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with KDMC policies.
• Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, promoting safety and quality.
• Serve as a leader and advocate for patients and families.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver coordinated care.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Current Mississippi Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current CPR certification; ACLS and NRP certifications required within the first year.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Demonstrated competency in nursing skills and pharmacology assessment.
• Calm, organized, and effective in stressful situations.
• Flexibility to rotate shifts, assignments, and duty areas.
• Commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and quality patient care.

Required skills

• CPR certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Pharmacology competency.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and assist with patient transfers.
