Staff Regulatory Engineer

About the role

As a Staff Regulatory Engineer you will operate at the intersection of software engineering and global vehicle regulation, ensuring that next‑generation software‑defined vehicles meet every market’s compliance standards. You will act as the domain expert guiding development teams through complex regulatory landscapes while scaling a unified software architecture across diverse programs.

Key responsibilities

• Own the end‑to‑end regulatory view for a dedicated domain, from requirement intake through validation testing and independent sign‑off.
• Provide authoritative guidance on requirement interpretation, scope, and applicability to engineering and homologation stakeholders.
• Collaborate with software and systems teams to embed regulatory requirements early in the design process.
• Author and maintain Homologation Design Validation Plans, identify test obligations, and coordinate execution with internal and external test facilities.
• Oversee regulation‑to‑code traceability and manage compliance documentation for certification agencies.
• Assess regulatory impact of software design changes, create change evidence, and deliver independent homologation views for releases.
• Contribute to initiatives that improve scalability and quality of homologation delivery across programs and markets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in automotive product certification, product safety, or homologation.
• Demonstrated subject‑matter expertise in at least one major automotive regulatory domain.
