Staff Power Electronics Engineer

About the role

Moog is seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design of high‑reliability power conversion solutions for spacecraft and defense systems. This senior individual contributor role combines technical leadership with hands‑on development in a fast‑paced aerospace environment.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and design DC‑DC converters, inverters, motor drives, and battery‑management subsystems for aerospace applications.
• Perform circuit design, simulation, component selection, schematic capture, and guide PCB layout, thermal management, and EMI/EMC considerations.
• Lead hardware bring‑up, integration, debug, verification, and qualification activities.
• Develop and review specifications, design reviews, test plans, and verification documentation.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis on complex technical issues and provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Collaborate across systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience designing power electronics for aerospace, defense, or other high‑reliability applications.
• Proven track record with high‑reliability DC‑DC converter design.
• Strong understanding of power semiconductor devices and reliability requirements.
