Staff Physician (80% FTE)

About the role

The UC Irvine Student Health Center is seeking a part‑time Staff Physician (80 % FTE) to provide primary and specialty medical care to university students. Working under the Medical Director or Senior Lead Physician, you will see scheduled and walk‑in patients, make diagnoses, prescribe treatment, and offer health education.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical examinations and diagnose a wide range of conditions.
• Prescribe and administer appropriate treatments, including contraceptive counseling and management of gynecological issues.
• Collaborate with mental‑health providers to address depression, anxiety, ADHD and related concerns.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records in compliance with quality‑assurance standards.
• Provide telehealth consultations using video platforms such as Zoom.

Required profile

• Board certification in a specialty recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy.
• Experience diagnosing and treating diverse health problems with minimal reliance on external labs.
• Familiarity with gynecological care, birth‑control counseling, and mental‑health principles for college‑age patients.

Required skills

• Proficiency with telehealth delivery via Zoom or similar video platforms.
• Competence in electronic medical record charting.
