Staff Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

Moog’s Industrial Group is seeking a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of complex electro‑hydraulic, electromechanical, and electropneumatic components and systems. Based onsite in Buffalo, NY, you will work with a high‑performing team to create new products for markets such as flight simulation, oil & gas, and custom motion‑control solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute engineering efforts that require authoritative judgment, adapting standard and non‑standard techniques.
• Devise innovative solutions, coordinate major project work, and lead design proposal teams.
• Develop product requirements through customer and sales consultations.
• Validate concepts with trade studies, analyses, and experimental test programs.
• Document designs, analyses, and test results in concise reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• At least 10 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• Proven expertise in sub‑disciplines such as statics, dynamics, hydraulics, and performance analysis.
