Staff Manufacturing Engineer

About the role
Kodiak Robotics is seeking a senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead electromechanical manufacturing initiatives for its autonomous trucking platform. The role will drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) practices, coordinate with supply chain and commercial teams, and ensure high‑quality production of ruggedized compute racks, automotive harnesses, and other electromechanical assemblies.
Key responsibilities
- Lead electromechanical manufacturing for ruggedized compute rack assemblies, automotive harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Define and implement DFM best practices across product lines.
- Coordinate component supply with Supply Chain and commercial teams.
- Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for component builds.
- Manage documentation requirements with engineering, test, and quality teams.
- Communicate program progress, milestones, and risks to leadership and engineering.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing line design, layout, and automation.
- Lead troubleshooting activities, including root‑cause analysis, yield improvement, and test automation.
Required profile
- 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in complex environments.
- Proven track record of managing system builds in automotive, heavy industry, or aerospace.
- Hands‑on experience with line bring‑up, test, fixture design, and automation.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
- Demonstrated success taking a design from concept to scaled production.
