Staff Manager, Project Engineering

About the role

Moog is seeking a Staff Manager, Project Engineering to lead a team of roughly 20 project engineers within the Space Sector’s Actuation Systems Business Unit. Based onsite in Elma, NY, you will oversee engineering projects, ensure compliance with Moog’s Design and Development standards, and support proposal efforts for new business.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of ~20 project engineers.
• Assign projects, monitor progress, and ensure delivery within technical, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Conduct performance reviews, provide career development guidance, and foster continuous improvement.
• Provide technical leadership and feedback to shape engineering strategy.
• Coordinate with engineering leadership to align project goals and share best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of relevant technical experience.
• Proven track record managing and leading engineering teams.
• Experience in people leadership and conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated expertise in project management, including EVMS, risk and opportunity management, scope, schedule, and budget control.
• Ability to work onsite in Elma, NY; remote candidates will not be considered.
