Staff Loads & Dynamics Engineer

About the role

Radiant Industries is developing the world’s first mass‑produced portable nuclear microreactor. The Staff Loads & Dynamics Engineer will own and execute structural loads, vibration, and dynamic analyses for the Kaleidos reactor and its supporting hardware throughout the product lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop static, dynamic, and transient load cases for reactor systems, support structures, and transport configurations.
• Perform structural dynamics analyses, including modal, random vibration, shock, sine vibration, and fatigue assessments.
• Run explicit dynamics simulations to capture nonlinear reactor response during seismic and transportation events.
• Define transportation and handling environments (road, rail, air, sea) and generate load cases for sizing and verification.
• Conduct finite element analyses (FEA) using ANSYS, Abaqus, or comparable tools.
• Collaborate with design, thermal, nuclear, and test teams to influence hardware architecture and material selection.
• Support test planning, shaker tests, modal surveys, and structural verification activities.
• Document analysis results, create reports for internal reviews and regulatory interfaces, and contribute to failure investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in structural dynamics, loads analysis, and FEA for complex mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
