Staff Backend Software Engineer

About the role

As a Staff Backend Software Engineer you will design, build and maintain fast, reliable backend systems that power Semgrep’s products at scale. You will work closely with other engineers to develop APIs, data models and services while integrating third‑party vendors into our platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high‑performance backend services for a seamless user experience.
• Develop and evolve APIs, data models, and services that support Semgrep’s products at scale.
• Integrate third‑party vendor solutions into existing first‑party codebases.

• Strong understanding of databases, query optimization, and distributed systems.
• Experience collaborating with cross‑functional engineering teams.
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.
