Staff Accountant

About the role

As a Staff Accountant on Giga’s Finance team, you will be a core contributor to the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial operations. You will own key parts of the general ledger, drive a clean monthly close, and support reporting that informs senior‑level decisions. This role is hands‑on, visible, and essential to building the financial infrastructure that matches the company’s rapid pace.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness of monthly journal entries.
• Manage cost accounting functions, including inventory management, variance analysis, inventory cut‑offs, and margin analysis.
• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, preparing accruals, prepaid amortization, and recurring journal entries.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve variances promptly.
• Prepare internal financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Maintain fixed‑asset schedules, handling additions, disposals, depreciation, and GL reconciliation.
• Assist accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including coding, approvals, and cash application.
• Handle sales tax filings, 1099 preparation, and other compliance obligations.
• Provide documentation and schedules for external audits and tax preparation.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, controls, and documentation standards.

Required profile

• 2+ years of accounting experience in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
