Stacker Operator – Sawmill Production

About the role

Join our sawmill team in DeRidder, LA as a Stacker Operator. You will work on the 2nd shift, Monday through Friday, operating the stacker machinery that prepares lumber for drying and further processing. This permanent, full‑time position offers a hands‑on environment where safety, teamwork, and quality are paramount.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the sawmill stacker equipment safely and efficiently.
• Determine lumber size and select the correct pack size for each product.
• Ensure lumber is stacked to meet quality standards and allow proper drying.
• Straighten crossed‑up lumber on stacker chains, rerun belt, unscrambler, and incline chains, handling pieces up to 50 lb.
• Perform routine inspections of machinery and report any wear or malfunction.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain clean work areas using brooms, air hoses, and other cleaning tools.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Ability to stand for most of the shift and perform repetitive manual tasks.
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, noisy, dusty environment with moving equipment.
• Physical capability to lift, push, and pull lumber up to 50 lb.
• 1‑3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
