SRE Support Engineer – Compute (Linux, Kubernetes, Containers)

About the role

Virtasant is looking for an SRE Support Engineer to join its Compute team. This is a hands‑on, engineering‑level support position focused on helping internal developers adopt, debug, and succeed with a large‑scale internal compute platform built on Linux, containers, and Kubernetes. The role is remote and aligned with Indian Standard Time (8 AM–5 PM IST).

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑touch, white‑glove onboarding and ongoing support for internal customers using the compute platform.
• Respond to Slack, community forum, and ticketing system queries with deep technical troubleshooting.
• Act as the first line of engineering support for Kubernetes‑ and container‑related issues.
• Troubleshoot, isolate, and resolve problems across Kubernetes workloads, Docker containers, Linux servers, networking, and system resources.
• Write clear incident summaries, runbooks, and knowledge‑base articles.
• Participate in post‑mortems and drive follow‑up actions.
• Collaborate with SRE, Platform, and Engineering teams to escalate bugs and propose platform improvements.

Required profile

• Strong foundation in Linux fundamentals and networking.
• Hands‑on experience with Docker containerization and Kubernetes (private or multi‑cloud environments preferred).
• Ability to perform low‑level Linux troubleshooting and systemd analysis.
• Excellent written communication for documentation and incident reporting.
