Sr. Quantum Integration Engineer

About the role

Join Applied Materials' CTO group to develop solid‑state solutions for quantum technology, focusing on superconducting qubits and optical quantum computing. You will create process and device integration solutions that lower error rates and advance quantum information platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Create process, module, and device integration solutions for various quantum structures.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop new materials, processes, and structures for quantum devices.
• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, and compile technical reports while following safety guidelines.
• Troubleshoot complex problems, perform root‑cause analysis, and resolve process engineering issues.
• Generate internal and external documentation, presentations, and technical reports.
• Measure material and device properties, interpret results, and refine integration approaches.
• Stay current with advancements in device integration and quantum information to implement new technologies.
• Partner with customers, start‑ups, and universities to identify challenges and develop enabling solutions.

Required profile

• Doctorate (Ph.D.) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline.
• Strong background in semiconductor materials and processing.
• Experience with quantum device integration or related research.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with teams, customers, and academic partners.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis expertise.
