Sr Business Strategy Specialist, Market Intelligence

About the role

CB&I, which delivers storage and asset-management solutions through its Storage Solutions and Asset Solutions business units, is hiring a Senior Business Strategy Specialist, Market Intelligence in The Woodlands, Texas. The role is an individual contributor position that covers CB&I's external view of customers, competitors, capital spending, technologies and policy, and reports directly to the Sr Director Strategy and Market Development while working with Business Unit Commercial Leads and Government Relations contacts.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain a structured market intelligence database mapping customers, facilities, planned projects, investment timing, competitors and potential partners, with sources, dates, status and reconciled information.
• Analyze market size, demand drivers, customer needs, technology shifts and competition across priority markets, and recommend entry or expansion priorities.
• Track customer capital expenditure plans and project awards, and monitor competitor backlogs, capabilities, capacity and strategic moves.
• Monitor policy, regulatory and industry developments with government relations contacts and flag material changes.
• Combine field intelligence with external research, reconcile conflicting views and feed findings into customer profiles and market assessments.
• Produce a monthly leadership brief and market outlook, and prepare first drafts of executive-ready charts, analyses and presentations.

Required profile

• Degree in Economics, Data Analytics, Finance, Engineering or a related analytical field.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in energy services research or strategy, including market intelligence, industry or equity research, strategy consulting, commercial analysis or a comparable analytical role.
• Ability to turn research into leadership reports, with familiarity with storage, terminals, LNG, infrastructure or asset lifecycle services preferred.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Power BI, plus research databases and data visualization tools.
• Experience with project and company databases and public filings.
• Strong written and verbal communication, judgment, ownership and collaboration with commercial leads and government relations contacts.
