Sr. Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our Irvine team. You will play a pivotal role in managing complex accounting activities linked to online sales, inventory, and multi‑state tax compliance, ensuring our financial records accurately reflect marketplace activity.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile high‑volume eCommerce transactions from platforms such as Amazon, Shopify, and TikTok.
• Review settlements, refunds, fees, and chargebacks to confirm alignment with platform and company records.
• Match marketplace sales and payments to incoming funds, identifying and resolving gaps promptly.
• Conduct detailed inventory accounting reviews, including valuation, movement, returns, and adjustments.
• Investigate discrepancies in receipts, shipments, and fulfillment, coordinating corrective actions.
• Administer multi‑state sales tax compliance using Avalara, supporting report review and filing.
• Support Sage X3 troubleshooting, optimization, and reporting improvements.
• Create and maintain advanced Excel‑based reconciliations, schedules, and management reports.
• Identify and implement process enhancements and automation to strengthen controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in eCommerce, distribution, or inventory‑driven environments.
• Proven success reconciling marketplace sales and settlement data.
• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting principles.
• Experience with multi‑state sales tax compliance tools, especially Avalara.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel (large datasets, PivotTables, data transformation).
• ERP systems proficiency, with a strong preference for Sage X3.
• Sales tax compliance using Avalara.
• Familiarity with eCommerce platforms such as Amazon, Shopify, and TikTok.
