Spring + Summer 2027 Co‑Op – Manufacturing Science & Technology

About the role

Alcon is seeking a motivated co‑op student to join the Manufacturing Science & Technology team in Houston for the Spring and Summer of 2027. The role supports risk management documentation remediation across multiple manufacturing processes and product lines, providing hands‑on experience in a regulated, medical‑device environment.

Key responsibilities

• Organize action items, track milestones, and maintain project documentation for risk‑management workstreams.
• Review risk‑management documents, failure analyses, and control documentation for consistency, completeness, and traceability.
• Update documentation using approved inputs, stakeholder feedback, and standard templates.
• Prepare and maintain trackers, meeting notes, status summaries, and documentation packages.
• Map manufacturing process flows and documentation linkages to identify potential gaps.
• Coordinate cross‑functional meetings, capture outcomes, and communicate follow‑up actions.
• Organize large volumes of technical information across parallel workstreams.
• Escalate issues, missing inputs, or timeline risks to the project lead or functional stakeholders.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in an engineering or related program with a focus on manufacturing, quality, or process engineering.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Interest in working within a regulated, medical‑device environment.
