Spring 2027 Unpaid Internship with Georgia Bureau of Investigation

About the role

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is offering an unpaid spring internship for the 2027 semester. This 4‑month program (January – April 2027) provides college or university students pursuing criminal justice or related fields with hands‑on experience across investigative, forensic, and public affairs units.

Key responsibilities

• Assist investigative field offices and specialized units such as Commercial Gambling, Child Exploitation & Computer Crimes, and Financial Investigations.
• Support forensic science laboratories in chemistry, biology, trace evidence, toxicology, impressions, and firearms analysis.
• Contribute to the Public Affairs Office, Georgia Crime Information Center, and Medical Examiner’s Office as needed.
• Complete required documentation, including the Internship Questionnaire, and adhere to GBI’s drug‑free workplace policies.

Required profile

• Current enrollment in a college or university program related to criminal justice, forensic science, or a similar discipline.
• Availability for the full internship period (January – April 2027).
• Ability to pass background and drug‑use screenings as defined by GBI policy.
