About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Spring 2027 Product Quality Engineer Co‑op to join its VSU BU Implant Quality Group in Gloucester, MA. This full‑time, six‑month on‑site internship offers hands‑on experience with semiconductor manufacturing processes and quality engineering practices.

Key responsibilities

• Support the processing of defective material and root‑cause analysis.
• Learn and use the SAP Integrated Business system for quality data management.
• Visit local suppliers alongside the Quality team to assess components.
• Participate in cross‑functional teams to solve quality‑related problems.
• Collaborate with engineering groups on small, focused projects.
• Potentially tour a semiconductor fab if schedule permits.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• In good academic standing at your university.
• Strong interpersonal, inquisitive, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
