Spring 2027 Manufacturing Engineering Co‑Op

About the role

This Spring 2027 Co‑Op supports Bosch Charleston’s automotive manufacturing plant by driving output and quality improvements. You will work on real production lines, troubleshoot equipment and process issues, and develop technical solutions that enhance capacity and meet demand.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate problem‑solving activities for equipment or process gaps.
• Communicate project status with operational and departmental management.
• Develop software tools to improve data transparency.
• Plan and execute production trials, focusing on equipment quality and technical documentation.
• Assist in training and documentation for hourly and salaried associates.
• Troubleshoot production problems, determine root causes, and update machine drawings.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans (Work Instructions, Control Plans, PFMEA, gauge logs).
• Use SolidWorks to improve designs of fixtures, gauges, robot grippers, and work‑piece carriers.
• Help design workplace layouts and material flow.

Required profile

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
• Strong interest in special machinery, industrial automation, or manufacturing systems, especially in the automotive sector.
• Familiarity with engineering principles, concept development, and system‑level thinking.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
