Speech Language Pathologist

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Speech Language Pathologist in its Medical Office Building in Daytona Beach, Florida. The role oversees the care provided by therapy aides and works within established regulations and practice standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the care provided by therapy aides and maintain productivity standards through effective time management and clinical efficiency, adjusting hours to meet patient needs.
• Maintain clinical knowledge, use evidence-based practices and act as a clinical instructor.
• Adjust to changes in patient census and assist in other centers or programs when needed.
• Perform evaluations and re-evaluations, establish and adapt individualized treatment plans including goals, activities and frequency, and discharge patients when maximum benefit is achieved or per payer guidelines.
• Document, charge and bill patients accurately and timely using measurable, objective terminology and CPT codes.
• Evaluate age-appropriate behavior and motor skills, identify the need for patient and caregiver education, and support community outreach and quality-improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
• Conversational English ability and effective written, verbal and electronic communication.
• Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or provisional/temporary (SLP-PROV/SLP-TEMP) license; additional licensure may depend on the unit or state.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Basic computer skills.

Pay range: $31.86 - $59.27. Florida Level 2 background screening applies to certain positions.
