Specialized Tax Services – Research & Development Tax – Senior Manager

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its Specialized Tax Services team focused on research and development (R&D) tax credits. You will provide expert tax advice, guide complex compliance projects, and mentor diverse teams while delivering high‑impact solutions for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic tax planning initiatives to optimize client positions in R&D tax credits and other niche areas.
• Guide teams through intricate tax compliance processes, ensuring adherence to professional and technical standards.
• Apply systems thinking to uncover underlying tax challenges and identify growth opportunities for clients.
• Craft clear, holistic messages that convey complex tax concepts to stakeholders.
• Validate outcomes with clients, incorporate feedback, and adjust service delivery accordingly.
• Direct teams through complex restructuring projects, maintaining composure in ambiguous situations.
• Develop and sustain high‑performing, diverse, and inclusive teams.
• Conduct open coaching conversations to foster continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 6 years of relevant tax experience.
• Professional credential such as CPA, Bar membership, or other tax/finance qualification.
