Special Education Paraprofessional – West Elementary

About the role

The School District of Baraboo is hiring two Special Education Paraprofessionals for West Elementary for the 2026‑2027 school year. The position starts on August 24, 2026, works 33 hours per week (M, T, Th, F 7:30 am‑3:00 pm; Wed 7:30 am‑1:00 pm) and offers a starting rate of $18.00 per hour with benefits.

Key responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students identified with disabilities, including those with emotional and multiple handicaps.
• Assist teachers in delivering reading, writing, and mathematics instruction.
• Communicate regularly with families to support student progress.
• Lift and move materials weighing at least 30 lb as needed.

Required profile

• Must hold or obtain a Special Education Program Aide license before the first day of work.
• Meet Wisconsin DPI Title I hiring requirements (minimum 48 semester hours, an associate degree, or equivalent assessment).
• Ability to connect with students and families and to work collaboratively in a classroom setting.
