Solutions Engineer

About the role

This is the founding Solutions Engineer at Serval – the first technical seller who will define world‑class solutions engineering for the company. You will own the technical side of the pre‑sales cycle for enterprise customers, working directly with sophisticated IT and security buyers.

Key responsibilities

• Run the technical sales motion with account executives, including discovery, architecture design, demos, whiteboard sessions, executive briefings, and security reviews.
• Deep‑dive into prospect integrations across identity providers (Okta, Entra), ITSM, ticketing, MDM, HRIS, cloud platforms, and SaaS applications.
• Translate complex technical environments into scoped, value‑based use cases and success criteria for pilots.
• Provide expert guidance on security guardrails, least‑privilege, just‑in‑time access, audit logging, and compliance questions.
• Hand off pilots to Deployment with full technical context and build the foundational SE toolkit (demo environments, reference architectures, evaluation frameworks, FAQs, competitive positioning).
• Act as the bridge between field teams and product, surfacing objections and feature gaps to engineering.

Required profile

• A builder at heart who can scope, demo, and ship proof‑of‑value solutions independently.
• Deeply technical and credible, able to earn the respect of CIOs, Heads of IT, and security leaders in first meetings.
• Trusted advisor instinct, listening for real problems and proving value rather than merely pitching features.
• Comfortable operating on the AI frontier, fluent in deploying and governing LLM‑powered agents in enterprises.
• Thrives in ambiguity, owning end‑to‑end work without waiting for direction.

Required skills

• Integration with identity providers (Okta, Entra) and SCIM.
• Experience with ITSM, ticketing, MDM, HRIS, and cloud SaaS platforms.
• Strong security knowledge: guardrails, least‑privilege, just‑in‑time access, audit logging, compliance.
• Design and delivery of reference architectures and technical demos.
• AI/LLM deployment and governance within enterprise environments.
