Solutions Account Manager, Research Intelligence

About the role

We are looking for a Solutions Account Manager to help universities across the Midwest unlock the power of AI‑driven research intelligence. In this position you will partner with academic leaders to embed Elsevier’s data and analytics platforms into their research workflows, driving faster discovery and better decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Drive revenue growth for AI‑powered research intelligence platforms, data licensing and solutions across the assigned territory (CO, KS, MT, ND, SD, WY, NE, MO).
• Promote AI‑enabled discovery, analytics and insight tools that accelerate research outcomes.
• Use a consultative sales approach to understand customer challenges and design tailored solutions.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with libraries, research offices and senior academic leadership.
• Develop and execute account plans that expand partnerships and deliver long‑term value.
• Maintain accurate forecasting and pipeline management using Salesforce, Gong and Clari.
• Collect and share market and competitive insights to shape product and go‑to‑market strategy.
• Represent Elsevier at academic conferences and higher‑education events to generate engagement.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex accounts and meeting revenue targets in a consultative sales environment.
• Ability to engage senior academic, research or institutional stakeholders credibly.
• Strong understanding of data, analytics or technology‑enabled solutions with a curiosity about AI in research.
• Excellent communication, presentation and relationship‑building skills.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to translate customer needs into actionable account plans.
• Comfort working with CRM and forecasting tools.
• Self‑motivated and able to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams.
