Solution Sales Engineer – Business Development Manager

About the role

Fortress Safety is looking for a Solution Sales Engineer who will combine technical expertise with commercial acumen to grow the business across high‑growth markets such as machinery safety, warehouse automation, and food & beverage. This hybrid, field‑facing position will act as a trusted advisor, designing tailored solutions and guiding customers through the full sales cycle.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, research and pursue new customer opportunities across the Eastern U.S. territory.
• Develop and execute strategic plans to penetrate target market segments and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
• Lead technical discovery conversations, design customized product solutions and deliver compelling demonstrations.
• Address technical objections with clear, credible explanations and produce detailed proposals for engineers, managers and senior leaders.
• Represent Fortress Safety at trade shows, industry events and forums.
• Serve as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams (Engineering, Product, Support, Service) and relay market insights to influence product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands‑on experience in a client‑facing technical role such as Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer or Technical Consultant.
• Proven track record of new business development, account acquisition and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety, machinery safety or warehouse automation markets.
