Software Systems Engineer Product Owner (Engagement Operations)

About the role

The Air and Missile Defense Engagement Operations Team is seeking a Product Owner who will guide the development of software that supports engagement planning, threat evaluation, and sensor resource management. You will work within the Army PEO Missiles and Space Integrated Fires Mission Command Project Office, collaborating with program managers and agile development teams.

Key responsibilities

• Prioritize and validate software features and defects for each product increment and sprint.
• Review systems‑engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, providing technical guidance to developers.
• Conduct technical briefings and advise leadership on status, risks, performance, and recommended actions.
• Coordinate with program management to set capability priorities aligned with mission objectives.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of combined Government/DoD experience.
• Active Secret security clearance or higher.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s (or advanced) degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related field.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office toolset.
• Experience working with Agile software developers.
• Familiarity with Scrum methodology.
