Software Engineering Manager

About the role

Mastercard is building a new Software Engineering team in O’Fallon, MO to deliver innovative, secure switching solutions for its Network Solutions portfolio. As the Software Engineering Manager you will lead a group of engineers, drive technical strategy, and ensure high‑quality, reliable software that supports global payment networks.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, coach and develop a software engineering team, handling performance reviews and goal setting.
• Provide strategic leadership for application architecture, design complex integrations, and ensure alignment with development standards.
• Oversee performance engineering of enterprise software and champion the use of AI across the group.
• Research, evaluate, and select tools and vendors to meet domain‑specific needs.
• Collaborate with domain owners, payment network teams, and business stakeholders to define innovative solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, pull‑request approvals, and day‑to‑day support activities.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in product, framework, or tool development, upgrades, and production support.
• 2‑3 years of people‑management experience with proven leadership abilities.
• Strong communication skills to work with business and IT stakeholders at all levels.
• Track record of delivering technology solutions from definition through operations.
