Software Engineer, Trading Engineering

About the role

Two Sigma is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Trading Engineering team. You will help build and enhance high‑performance platforms that support simulation and live trading across multiple markets and asset classes.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation and live‑trading platforms for various financial instruments.
• Extend existing platforms to support new markets and asset classes, ensuring accurate financial modeling.
• Review and improve code quality, focusing on performance and reliability.
• Analyze software performance metrics to guide system optimizations.
• Implement trading and measurement applications that meet quantitative research needs.
• Provide software support to traders executing portfolio orders.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of professional software development experience; 2‑6 years preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and high‑performance programming.
• Experience deploying and optimizing quantitative models in production is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with large‑scale systems is desirable.
