Software Engineer – Public Safety Solutions

About the role

SmartCop, part of Harris Computer’s Frontline portfolio, is seeking a Software Engineer to help build and maintain mission‑critical public safety applications. You will work on a fully integrated platform that supports law‑enforcement and first‑responder agencies, ensuring officers have reliable, real‑time tools in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable C#/.NET applications for the SmartCOP suite.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Incorporate AI‑assisted development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and testing.
• Support ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and bug fixes for existing systems.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Authorized to work in the United States and based in the U.S.
• Available to collaborate during North American Central Time business hours.
• Willingness to undergo background checks for access to sensitive public‑safety data.

Required skills

• Proficiency in C# and the .NET framework.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented design principles.
• Experience with MS SQL Server, T‑SQL, and stored procedures.
• Familiarity with n‑tier web or service‑oriented architectures and web services.
• Experience using AI‑assisted development tools and automated testing practices.
