Software Engineer, Mobile

About the role

GovWell is looking for a Mobile Engineer to help scale its mobile platform that connects citizens and government staff. Reporting to the CTO, you will join a small, fast‑growing team in New York City and work on both staff‑facing and citizen‑facing mobile experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement mobile features that enable field workers to complete tasks reliably, even with intermittent connectivity.
• Build resident‑focused interfaces that simplify interactions with local government services.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to ensure a seamless end‑to‑end experience.
• Maintain high performance, security, and accessibility standards across iOS and Android platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement of the mobile codebase.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing production‑grade mobile applications.
• Comfort working in a startup environment with rapid iteration and high impact.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to deliver reliable solutions under real‑world constraints.
