Software Engineer - Mobile, iOS

About the role

Compass is seeking an iOS Software Engineer to help build a mobile platform that makes buying or selling a home a delightful experience. You will work in a fast‑paced, startup‑like environment alongside product and design partners to deliver high‑quality features.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers to scope, design, and launch iOS features.
• Independently develop components and ship features while following best‑practice engineering standards.
• Perform code reviews, participate in design reviews, and write comprehensive automated tests.
• Create clear documentation, including diagrams, service descriptions, and runbooks.
• Contribute to engineering‑led initiatives that improve speed, efficiency, and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional iOS development experience with apps shipped to the App Store.
• Strong ability to collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required skills

• Swift programming language.
• SwiftUI and Swift Concurrency.
• Experience integrating with RESTful backend services.
• Familiarity with iOS design patterns and best practices.
• Exposure to reactive programming frameworks (optional).
• Knowledge of Scrum/Agile development methodologies.
