Software Engineer

About the role

As a Software Engineer at Applied Materials you will work on cutting‑edge semiconductor and display equipment, applying machine learning and AI to create software that solves high‑value customer problems.

Key responsibilities

• Provide reliability and performance engineering support for multiple Computer‑Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) products used in leading semiconductor fabs.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts and AI tools to automate and improve reliability test methodologies.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of moderately complex software issues and implement preventive measures.
• Perform proof‑of‑concept work on emerging software technologies.
• Develop software documentation, test procedures and troubleshoot software problems.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers to gather requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.
• 2–4 years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Linux and/or Windows environments and databases.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript and PowerShell.
• Prior experience with enterprise distributed applications.NET and Kubernetes are a plus.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
