Software Engineer

About the role

North is building a next‑generation cloud spend management platform. As a Software Engineer you will join the product team to design and deliver features that give customers real‑time visibility and control over cloud finances. You will work on Python micro‑services that power the core of the product and collaborate with product, platform and AI/ML teams.

Key responsibilities

• Build product features that manage large cloud spend and generate cost savings.
• Design, develop, and maintain Python micro‑services.
• Handle data efficiently, making decisions about performance, memory, and latency.
• Create reusable service layers, libraries and abstractions for cross‑team use.
• Propose architectures and solutions beyond simple spec implementation.
• Write comprehensive tests and establish guardrails for fast, safe development.
• Maintain and refactor existing systems as requirements evolve.
• Collaborate closely with product, platform, and AI/ML teams, shifting priorities as needed.

Required profile

• 3–7 years of software engineering experience delivering production systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and building micro‑services.
• Experience handling data at scale with attention to performance, memory and latency.
• Ability to design reusable components and think about long‑term architecture.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑moving startup environment and adapting to shifting priorities.
