Software Engineer

About the role

Liberty Mutual is looking for a Software Engineer to help modernize its auto‑claims platform. You will work in a hybrid setting, collaborating with product owners and customers to deliver high‑quality, customer‑centric solutions using the latest web technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and customers to translate requirements into robust software features.
• Develop, test, and maintain front‑end and back‑end components using React, TypeScript, JavaScript and Node.js.
• Design and consume RESTful services while ensuring performance, scalability and security.
• Apply test‑driven and behavior‑driven development practices in an Agile (Scrum/Kanban/XP) environment.
• Identify and implement improvements to code quality, deployment pipelines and overall system efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience working in Agile teams using Scrum, Kanban or XP.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to non‑technical audiences.
