Software Engineer Intern

About the role

As a Software Engineer Intern at Semgrep, you will help build developer‑focused security tools that prevent bugs and vulnerabilities. You will join the team behind the widely used Semgrep platform, shipping features that integrate the product into existing workflows and improve service reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and ship new features in a full‑stack codebase using Python, PostgreSQL, Typescript, and React.
• Collaborate with users, product, and design teams to address pain points and improve core workflows.
• Query aggregated metrics and run experiments to understand and enhance Semgrep usage.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and demos with senior engineers.
• Present your work to the team at the end of the internship.

Required profile

• Completed multiple college courses in computer science or equivalent experience.
• Interest in a career in software development or related fields.
• Experience with a dynamic language such as Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or PHP.
• Enthusiasm for software security and developer enablement.
• Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco office five days a week and start on May 24 or June 14, 2027.
