Software Engineer III

About the role

Google is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, develop, test, and maintain large‑scale software solutions that power billions of users worldwide. You will join a fast‑moving team, contribute to critical projects, and have the flexibility to move across product areas as the business evolves.

Key responsibilities

• Write high‑quality product or system code and participate in design reviews.
• Review peer code, enforce best practices, and ensure testability and efficiency.
• Maintain and improve documentation and educational content.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve product or system issues affecting hardware, network, or service quality.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to select appropriate technologies.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of professional programming experience in C++, Python, or Java.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and performance analysis in an academic or industry setting.
• Background in large‑scale systems, data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.
• Demonstrated ability to develop accessible technologies and conduct software test engineering.
