Software Engineer II – Test Enablement

About the role

NRG is looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Test Enablement team. In this position you will create internal tools, automation frameworks, and quality platforms that help engineering teams deliver high‑quality software faster.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain internal tools that support software quality and engineering productivity.
• Develop automated testing solutions using Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, NUnit, Jest, Vitest, or similar frameworks.
• Integrate testing solutions into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Contribute to reporting and dashboard tools that aggregate test results, quality metrics, and release insights.
• Partner with QA engineers, software engineers, DevOps engineers, and engineering leaders to identify quality gaps and deliver scalable solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, well‑tested code following team standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong fundamentals in software development and a collaborative, mid‑level mindset.
• Experience with automated testing and a passion for building productivity tools.

Required skills

• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as TypeScript, JavaScript, C#, Java, or Python.
• Hands‑on experience with automated testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, NUnit, Jest, Vitest).
• Familiarity with REST APIs, Git‑based workflows, and pull‑request processes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably Azure DevOps.
