Software Engineer II - Blockchain

About the role

Mastercard is seeking a Software Engineer II to join its Blockchain and Digital Assets Engineering team. In this hybrid position you will help design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise‑grade blockchain solutions that power innovative payment products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, deploy, and maintain blockchain applications, smart contracts, and Web3 integrations within the Ethereum/EVM ecosystem.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and testing activities to ensure software quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Contribute to improving engineering processes, automation, tooling, and cloud‑native containerized deployments.

Required profile

• Experience as a Software Engineer or Developer with a focus on blockchain technologies.
• Proficiency in Ethereum/EVM, Web3 frameworks (ethers.js, web3.js) and Solidity smart contract development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced Agile environment and communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Java, TypeScript, JavaScript
• Git version control
• Docker and containerization
• CI/CD pipeline tooling
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
• Familiarity with Hyperledger Besu, Quorum, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Solana (preferred)
