Software Engineer II, Backend

About the role
Rippling is looking for a Backend Software Engineer II to join its IT Product team. You will help build the core services that power device, app, and asset management for businesses, turning complex IT workflows into simple, automated experiences.
Key responsibilities
- Design, implement, and test reliable backend services and APIs that support core product features at scale.
- Work across API design, data modeling, event modeling, and performance optimization.
- Own the full development lifecycle for defined features, from implementation and testing to deployment, monitoring, and production support.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, contribute to technical discovery, and quickly learn from existing code and systems.
Required profile
- Proven experience building backend services that handle high‑volume traffic.
- Strong understanding of API design, data modeling, and event‑driven architectures.
- Ability to own feature development from concept through production and support.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
