Software Engineer I – Decision Product Enablement

About the role

Join Mastercard’s Shared Services, Fraud Products team as a Software Engineer I focused on Decision Product Enablement. You will help build and operate capabilities for the Decision Management Platform, a high‑performance Java‑based system that processes billions of transactions each month to combat fraud and verify cardholder identity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform detailed technical analysis of hardware and software to meet business and functional requirements.
• Provide subject‑matter expertise for assigned projects and translate system requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria using Agile methodology.
• Facilitate scoping and review sessions for technical requirements and user stories.
• Support software development activities, including design, build, test, and maintenance of applications.
• Apply software design and architecture principles to ensure scalable, maintainable, secure, and performant solutions.
• Conduct unit, functional, and integration testing to validate components and system quality.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, performance concerns, and operational readiness gaps.
• Follow secure coding, code review, and observability best practices.
• Collaborate across teams to manage dependencies and improve platform delivery.
