Software Engineer – Datastore Infrastructure

About the role

As a Software Engineer on Notion's Datastore Infra Team, you will shape the core data services that power millions of users worldwide. You will work from our New York City or San Francisco office, collaborating closely with product engineers to ensure a fast, reliable, and secure experience.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the evolution of datastore infrastructure to support over 100 million global users.
• Design and deliver a Datastore Platform that simplifies schema management and large‑scale data migrations.
• Debug live production systems, participate in on‑call rotations, and manage failovers with minimal disruption.
• Partner with product and infrastructure teams to align data services with business goals.

Required profile

• Proven experience with large‑scale relational databases, distributed caches, and NoSQL systems.
• Hands‑on experience building or operating cloud‑based datastore solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, DynamoDB).
• Ability to troubleshoot production incidents and work effectively in an on‑call environment.
• Strong collaboration skills and a passion for building robust infrastructure.
