Software Engineer, Data Products & Platform

About the role

Claylabs is building a live, constantly‑updating map of companies, people, jobs and their relationships. The Data Platform team creates the data products that power this map and the shared systems that let new products ship quickly. As a Software Engineer you will turn fragmented, conflicting data into reliable, searchable information that thousands of customers rely on.

Key responsibilities

• Define data semantics, evaluate sources, resolve conflicts and model entities for downstream use.
• Prototype, test and launch new data products based on customer problems.
• Design and maintain the shared data foundation, including ingestion, modeling, versioning and release evaluation.
• Own data serving layers for interactive search, enrichment lookups, large result sets and change alerts.
• Integrate model‑based pipelines with deterministic processes, proving correctness and cost‑efficiency at scale.
• Measure and improve data quality metrics such as coverage, freshness and traceability.

Required profile

• 8+ years of hands‑on engineering experience building customer‑facing data products.
• Product‑oriented mindset, able to drive features from concept to production.
• Proven ability to lead ambiguous, cross‑functional work and create clear scopes.
• Empathetic communicator who can explain complex ideas to varied audiences.
• Commitment to high‑quality, maintainable code and reusable frameworks.
• Experience operating production systems where data reliability is critical.
