Software Engineer (Backend-Leaning) – NYC

About the role
We are a well‑funded early‑stage AI startup looking for a backend‑leaning Software Engineer to join our small, high‑impact team in New York. You will work directly with the founders and customers, shaping core product features from day one.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship core product features.
- Own projects from concept through production.
- Collaborate closely with founders and customers to solve complex technical problems.
- Help define the product and engineering roadmap in a high‑ownership environment.
Required profile
- 2‑5 years of software engineering experience.
- Strong experience with TypeScript and React.
- Backend‑leaning engineer with solid computer‑science fundamentals.
- Previous startup experience is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a small, high‑performing team with a high degree of ownership.
- Willing to work onsite in New York and commit to a 6‑day work week (Sunday half day).

What we offer
- Base salary between $150,000 and $200,000 per year.
